The Salvation Army Grace Village

Grand Opening and ribbon cutting for Grace Village is June 8th.

We are so happy to announce that Grace Village is holding their Grand Opening and ribbon cutting ceremony on June 8th! It is the realization of a long-held dream for The Salvation Army Alberta & Northern Territories Division. Grace Village is built on land currently owned by The Salvation Army in Castle Downs and will bridge the gap between chronic homelessness and permanent housing in Edmonton, giving hope for a better and brighter future.

Three key programs currently offered downtown will be moved, in whole or in part, to Grace Village:

• Transitional housing: Short-term residential program for 71 people as they transition to permanent housing
• Stabilization Housing: Rapid, short-term housing for 32 people waiting to enter treatment
• Supportive Living: Safe housing for 72 people who need a higher level of support and have difficulty living independently

At Grace Village, people will be free from worry about where they live, enabling them to focus on the difficult work needed to transition back to health and into a permanent home. Grace Village will combine the professionalism and passion of The Salvation Army with the inherent power of community by moving away from the institutional model.
