Annual Christmas Kettle Campaign

Christmas Kettle CampaignWhen you give to The Salvation Army, you are investing in the future of marginalized and overlooked people in your community.

The Salvation Army’s Christmas Kettle Campaign is an annual fundraising drive which began in San Francisco in 1891, and in Toronto (Canada’s first) in 1903. Kettles can be found at many locations across our Division and donations are needed to support our year-round programs and services to help people living in poverty. Kettle donations stay local and go towards our social service programs, such as food bank services, school meal programs, counselling, hot meals, job search programs, summer camps, and more. Each city or region has programming designed to help their community’s most vulnerable.

Volunteers are always needed to help run the campaigns and ring the bells. A Kettle can’t go out unless it has a volunteer attendant, so they are crucial to the campaign’s success. You may want to bring your kids or grandkids with you and experience helping others together.

To Donate: Many Kettle locations will now accept debit and credit cards (tap/touchless) to make a donation. You can also donate online at or at 1-800-SAL-ARMY.
