The challenges of 2020 did not stop our 30th Annual Santa Shuffle 5K Fun Run and 1K Elf Walk from taking place, but it did look a little different. Instead of holding the race all together as normal, participants could run or walk anytime on their own between December 5-12th, with online opening and closing ceremonies held on Facebook. Over 600 people registered in our Division and raised nearly $16,000!

The Santa Shuffle began in Edmonton in 1990 and in 2001 became a national fundraising event. This year, 35 cities participated across Canada with a common goal of raising money to fight poverty in their communities.

You can check out all the wonderful race photos this year from across Canada on Instagram by searching the hashtag #SantaShuffle2020. We had many enthusiastic Shufflers decked out in fantastic Christmas costumes – runners, walkers, families, and even pets took part! Each participant raised funds to support The Salvation Army’s initiatives to help the most vulnerable people in our communities.

Thank you to all who took part in this year’s Santa Shuffle. Thank you to all of you who sponsored them. We hope to see all of you in person next year!
