Edmonton’s 16th Annual Golf Classic Raises $210,000 for Camp

It was a beautiful day out on the links at the Highlands Golf Club for another successful Supreme Group Salvation Army Golf Classic in Edmonton. As announced last year, the funds raised at this year’s and last year’s tournaments are going to our Pine Lake Camp for upgrades, repairs, and new programs. We are tackling upgrades to as the Dining Hall kitchen, some of the older cabins, and the mini-golf course. We’ll be adding a program vehicle, a mountain bike trail, a culinary arts program, a new water well and pump house repairs, a new deck, and an obstacle course.

We are proud to announce that that two-year total is $444,000! This brings the tournament fundraising total from the past 16 years, to over $3 million for programs and services in Edmonton – an amazing effort by all that makes this the most successful Salvation Army golf tournament in Canada.

Pine Lake Camp is a place for youth of all ages and backgrounds to experience a week’s holiday at the best summer camp we can offer. Many of the kids that come to camp have never been outside of the city, never been to camp before, and without your generous donations, wouldn’t be able to afford camp. We believe that financial barriers should never be a reason for a child to miss the camp experience, and we do everything we can to ease the financial burden on families in need. We are blessed to have so many sponsors and supporters who feel the same.

Success of this event would not have been possible without our very dedicated sponsors and donors, many introduced to the event by Supreme Group’s John and Sally Leder. This annual event has had the support of amazing sponsors for the past 16 years, and we are grateful for the generosity of all involved. Golfers had the opportunity to donate $50 for a camper backpack for the kids who may not have the necessary supplies they need for camp.
