On August 25, The Salvation Army in Medicine Hat celebrated the Community Resource Centre’s (CRC) move into a new and expanded space located at 476 – 4 Street SE. The new space will allow more room for programs and extended operating hours.

“People can drop by for a cup of coffee, access our Family Services, and stay for a hot supper if they need one,” says Ian Scott, Director of the CRC. “There’s lots of community interest in what new programs we might be able to offer in the new space and we’re excited to see what evolves.”

The August 25 event was originally planned as an awareness event for other Medicine Hat agencies and city officials but became an unofficial grand opening as word spread quickly through the community and over 300 people stopped by to check out the new centre. The Salvation Army Community Response Unit was on hand to serve up hot dogs and hamburgers and the day also included live music, an appearance by Sally Ann and visits from several members of public office.
