November 29, 2013 was the 16th Festival of Carols concert in Edmonton, but this year was extra special as the annual event happened for the first time in Calgary on December 1st! The Festival of Carols is a free event to thank donors, supporters, volunteers, and friends of The Salvation Army. Close to 1500 people between the Edmonton and Calgary events enjoyed singing Christmas carols, music from The Salvation Army brass bands, wonderful performances by the talented group Tenore (rhymes with amore!) – who performed at both concerts. The kids also delighted in going onstage to hear the Christmas story!

The Salvation Army would like to thank the members of The Salvation Army Glenmore Temple band and the Webber Academy in Calgary, The Salvation Army Edmonton Temple band and the Winspear Centre in Edmonton, and of course Tenore, for making both events such a success and a special night for everyone.
