The Calgary Stampeders and Calgary’s Classic Rock Q107 promised that this year’s coat drive would see record numbers, and they were right! Thanks to Jeff and Sarah, from the Jeff and Sarah morning show on Classic Rock Q107, and countless hours of hard work from the Calgary Stampeders marketing team, awareness of the event sky rocketed. Through donations from generous Q107 listeners and loyal Calgary Stampeders fans, the coat drive brought in 4088 coats! Calgary schools also participated in a friendly coat drive competition of their own. The students at Samuel W Shaw School came out victorious rounding up a total of 265 coats. The winning school will has been awarded an exclusive Calgary Stampeders locker room tour at McMahon Stadium for 50 students and a 2013 team signed Stampeders Jersey.

The Salvation Army Community Services (Calgary) is overjoyed by the response of Calgarians who donated winter jackets. The warm clothing will help to ensure that the city’s impoverished and less fortunate will have the proper clothing to stay warm this winter. The Salvation Army wishes to thank their many volunteers, and all of those who made this year’s coat drive a huge success. Thank you Calgary for helping us “Share the Warmth” this winter.
